Goals for the Season: top 5 pro female to be named in Triathlon Magazine
Sharon is a commercial real estate lender, runner, and triathlete who lives in Lafayette Hill, PA. She grew up in central Pennsylvania and went to college at Bucknell University where she was a sprinter/hurdler on the Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field teams. She relocated to Philadelphia after college, began her career in the banking industry, and then received her MBA from Temple University. Sharon continued to run post college, competing in races up to 10 miles. After watching a friend run the New York City Marathon, she got inspired to try distance-running and a marathon. She completed her first marathon (NYC) in 2004 and despite barely being able to walk afterwards, was hooked. By the following year, her goal was set to qualify for Boston, which she did and raced in early 2006. Soon after starting marathons, Sharon also began competing in sprint distance triathlons. Just as with running, the distances she raced in triathlons kept getting greater and greater. In 2008 Sharon placed 12th in her age group in the World Championship 70.3. In 2009, she finished 13th amateur and 50th overall female in the World Championship Ironman in Kona, and backed it up five weeks later with a 9th place age group finish in the WC 70.3. In 2010, Sharon earned her Pro Card at St. Croix and finished the season with a 2nd place finish at Savageman 70.0 triathlon.

For 2011, Sharon has been enjoying racing in all triathlon distances from full Ironman, to sprints. When Sharon isn't busy with her work, training, or racing, she enjoys reading, hiking and kayaking with her husband, and taking a well deserved nap on weekends.
